Douglas Calvin's Story
July 27,2008-
Greetings to all! I hope everyone from BRHS class of 78 is doing well. Many of you may remember me as Doug, however I typically go by my middle name, Calvin.
It has been a long time since I have heard from anyone from our class. The last person I spoke with was Sheryl (Charleston) Forte. As many of you may remember, Sherry and I hung out a lot!
I have been married for 19 years to a wonderful woman I met while living in Albany, GA. We have three boys. The oldest will soon attend Hannibal-LaGrange College in Hannibal, MO. on a volleyball scholarship. My twin boys are 12 and in the Fall of 08 will be in 7th grade. (Hey, I started my family later in life)
We live in Summerville, SC which is outside of Charleston. I am working for Cum...Expand for more
mins Turbo Technologies which is a division of Cummins, Inc. I joined them in October of 2007 after working for GM/Delphi for 23 years.
It is hard to believe that it has been 30 years since we walked across the stage of Clowes Hall. I clearly remember Mrs. Dearing threatening to not let some of us graduate since we were getting rowdy during the ceremony. I also remember Kevin Morrison hunging Mary Busch as he walked across the stage while the rest of us shook her hand. Perhaps it was the hidden vodka that caused us to act up.
Mr. Ed Freije is now the principal at Lawrence Central H.S. My son just graduated from there and it was very interested talking to him after all of these years. When he referred to me as Mr. Landers I had to laugh.
